Rifra Masterbatches considers environmental protection a central responsibility of its industrial development model. Environmental sustainability is an integral part of the company’s strategic and operational choices and translates into a concrete commitment aimed at reducing environmental impacts, the responsible use of resources, and the continuous improvement of energy and production performance. The company operates according to an integrated vision of sustainability, which combines technological innovation, process efficiency, and attention to the quality of raw materials. Environmental management is supported by certified systems and structured procedures that guarantee compliance with current regulations and the prevention of negative impacts on the environment. During the reporting period, there were no environmental disputes or significant sanctions for legislative non-compliance.

Energy efficiency plays a key role, pursued through constant monitoring of consumption and the adoption of solutions aimed at reducing emissions. The Molinetto di Mazzano (BS) plant also uses energy from photovoltaic systems integrated into the roof, which contribute to decreasing dependence on traditional energy sources. In 2024, a significant portion of energy needs was covered by renewable sources, while the process of analyzing and monitoring indirect emissions along the value chain, including Scope 3 emissions, continues.

Optimization and waste reduction
Great attention is paid to the management of raw materials and materials, with the aim of ensuring technical consistency of products and identifying opportunities for environmental improvement. The use of materials follows the production mix trend and is constantly monitored, as is the use of auxiliary materials and packaging, with a view to optimization and waste reduction.

Waste management for maximum material value
Responsible waste management represents a further pillar of Rifra’s environmental commitment. The company adopts collection, separation, and recovery procedures consistent with regulations and oriented towards maximizing the value of materials, limiting the use of disposal. Traceability and flow control of waste allow for the progressive improvement of environmental performance and the strengthening of a culture of prevention. In line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda goals, Rifra interprets environmental sustainability not only as regulatory compliance but as a strategic lever to strengthen its business, create long-term value, and actively contribute to more responsible and conscious industrial development.
