Creativity, innovation, and technology find their synthesis in Rifra Complex.
The idea behind the product is to simplify the management of the production cycle; each individual Complex is in fact customized according to the customer’s needs and is carefully developed taking into consideration the final use of the manufactured item, in order to guarantee the desired result.
Complexes are created through the synergy between color and various types of additives so that a single product introduces a set of elements into the production cycle that satisfy different needs.
As can be easily imagined, the practical applications are manifold:
- For example, in synthetic grass, the use of a single Complex containing color and UV stabilization makes it possible to give the finished product color and resistance to atmospheric agents in a practical way.
- Alternatively, by combining UV stabilization with flame retardant products (which are normally in antithesis to each other), it is possible to produce stadium seating that is resistant and high-performing, but above all, capable of maintaining the chosen color.
- The implementation of antistatic additives can have a dual function: on one hand, process antistatic additives are able to reduce the accumulation of electrostatic charges during the production process; on the other hand, product antistatic additives serve to eliminate dust deposits on the final item caused by electrostatic charges generated by friction, making them perfect for domestic applications.
- Including antiblocking additives, however, can make a difference in the food packaging sector. In fact, these additives are designed to facilitate the opening of bags and/or the vertical separation of stacked items during the storage phase of the finished product.
The use of Rifra master Complexes also finds application in the production of materials for the electrical sector, thanks to the inclusion of laser marking additives, which allow for the printing of high-definition images or text—logos, barcodes, graphics, expiration dates, and serial numbers—even on items with variable geometries. This solution, in addition to facilitating material marking, also avoids contamination from ink or labels during the mechanical recycling process at the end of the product’s life, thus helping to improve product sustainability.
The use of processing aid additives in addition to color masterbatches positively impacts production performance; it will therefore be possible to reduce friction between the melt and metal parts, favoring the flow of the melt and reducing the frequency of undesirable events such as die build-up and melt-fracture, thereby increasing the efficiency of the extrusion plant.
With Rifra Complex, color and technical performance combine to set no limits on the needs related to innovation and production.
