Rifra is participating in the Research & Innovation Call for Tenders by the Lombardy Region.
Those working in the plastics industry know that, in order to improve, it is essential to constantly update one’s skills and have access to as much information as possible. Often, such information is distributed along the supply chain and is not always freely available.
Teamwork is always an excellent vehicle for cross-functional information, and Rifra bases its collaboration with all players in the plastics processing supply chain on this principle.
“In our Laboratory, we have the opportunity to perform chemical-physical analyses and correlate expected performance (whether mechanical, aesthetic, thermal, etc.) with the formulation of the analyzed samples. This potential allows us to collect a series of data that represent a valuable source for our know-how.”

In the landscape of plastics recycling, the PCRPlus project addresses one of the most complex challenges: improving the quality and applicability of PCR (post-consumer recycled) resins.
“Our “PCRPlus” Project aims to develop functionalizing additives to enhance resins from recycled plastics intended for use in industrial products; additives that can improve the performance of post-consumer plastics. To achieve this, we have deployed all the analytical knowledge we have acquired, and our findings will soon be made available on the website upon the official conclusion of the Project. A preview of the results already collected will be presented by our R&D Manager, Dr. Bossini, at the Smart Plastic conference to be held at the Alfa Romeo Museum on May 7 and 8.
The philosophy of the Call for Tenders is, in fact, to sponsor research projects that have the collateral objective of disseminating knowledge to improve the Region’s competitiveness in the international sector.”
